THE WOLD & OAK ROOM

“The Wold” group of houses are all within a few minutes walking distance from each and comprise the following properties:  The Gatehouse (sleeps 6), Morland (sleeps 10), Gold Cup (sleeps 8), Goodwood (sleeps 6), St Leger (sleeps 10), Greenwood (sleeps 8), an also the Raphael Rooms (sleeps 6).

Within the main house next to the Oak Room is a beautiful large bedroom sleeping an extra 2 people.

The Oak Room is a remarkable panelled mini-ballroom space within Ashton Wold House, the home of the Late Miriam Rothschild. The space can seat 60 comfortably and includes a magnificent master bedroom. We have created this space due to the demand of our guests for a space where they can all get together – whether it be a birthday celebration, an afternoon tea party, a formal sit down dinner or a casual buffet lunch. Guests are required to hire tables and chairs and whatever else they may need. There is also a large kitchen with range cooker and 2 x full size fridge freezers

The cricket field is located across from the properties and is the perfect place to all get together . A number of outdoor games are supplied eg. rounders, crocket, badminton, table tennis etc

FACILITIES

This event space is only available along with accommodation.

The Oak Room includes:

  • Super King bedroom with en-suite bath, separate shower & WC
  • Large panelled mini “ballroom” – suitable for all sorts of occasions. This room can comfortably seat 60 people.
  • Large lower level kitchen area and small “drinks” kitchen – perfect for caterers, Range Cooker and 2 full size fridges and 1 1/2 freezers.

Prior to Arrival

Please let us know your estimated time of arrival. The property may be ready earlier than the normal 4pm checkin time. Please enquire a couple of days before. When you are circa 20 minutes from the property please call us on  07836207584

Personal Check-In

One of our team members will personally check you into the property, no matter what time it is. They will give you a quick run through on how to use the equipment in the property including heating etc and answer any questions you may have. We live on the Estate and are contactable 24hrs a day in the case of emergencies.

Please Note: Stocks of these items are not replenished during your stay – these are only a few basics to get you started eg. one loo roll per bathroom etc.

Guests of the “Wold and Oak Rooms” may only access the area around Ashton Wold House marked pink on the plan below. 

Guests are welcome to use the garden furniture and loungers supplied. A beautiful peaceful spot to relax.

Many parts of the main gardens are in disrepair – guests must not go into these areas and must remain within the pink area. Guests also have the use of your very own hand built traditional Shepherds Hut located in the courtyard.
